Tech Tip - Using The “Debug” Command To Clarify In ChatGPT

If you are unsure why ChatGPT provided a certain response or want to see how it arrived at a particular conclusion, you can use the “Debug” command. Here’s how:

Using the “Debug” command followed by your question will make ChatGPT provide a detailed explanation of how it arrived at its response, including the data sources it used and the reasoning behind its answer. For example:

– User: Can you tell me about the history of the Eiffel Tower?

– ChatGPT: The Eiffel Tower is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It was named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Construction of the tower began in 1887 and was completed in 1889, in time for the 1889 Exposition Universelle. It is the tallest structure in Paris and one of the most recognized symbols of France.

– User: Debug my question about the Eiffel Tower.

– ChatGPT: Sure! For your question “Can you tell me about the history of the Eiffel Tower?”, I used information from various sources, including books and websites, to generate a summary of the history of the Eiffel Tower. The keywords I used to understand your question included “Eiffel Tower” and “history.” I also took into account the context of your question, including the fact that you asked about the history of the tower specifically. Based on this information, I provided a brief summary of the history of the Eiffel Tower, including its construction and its significance as a symbol of France.
