When new Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce members Matthew Parsons from Surf Tech IT and Ross Wright from Wright Staff Recruitment attended a recent Chamber breakfast event at Gaudet Luce golf club they knew they were in for quality business conversations and, that all important bacon sandwich. However, Ross soon found that he was also in the right place to get the support he was seeking for his business.
Since setting up Wright Staff in 2006, and the continual growth from local businesses, Ross had become well aware of an emerging requirement for new hardware across the team with updated software and enhanced security.
When the conversation struck up between himself and Matthew, it soon became apparent that Surf Tech IT had the expertise that he’d been looking for. Not only that but Matthew was able to fill Ross in on the details of the Growing Secure Business in Worcestershire which is provided through Worcester Business Central’s Be Cyber Secure Programme.
The pair met and went through the project in detail, enjoyed another bacon sandwich and, with Matthew’s support, Ross was able to apply for match funding of 45% of the total project costs.
The work programme is now well underway. Ross Wright says, “with the new laptops and software in place, we now know we have optimum efficiency and protection for the data we hold. It’s important to us and something that offers crucial reassurance to our clients too.”
Matthew added: “it’s been a real pleasure to work with Wright Staff and support this thriving business. We’ve installed a cloud based directory service to help centrally manage and maintain users and computers. We’re also providing proactive support and patch management which means the team at Wright Staff can be confident that their IT solutions are well maintained whilst they focus on their day to day activities.” Goes to show that those early starts for networking really does develop effective ongoing relationships and reaps dividends far beyond the breakfast bap.
