Surf Tech IT, in collaboration with Nicol & Co Ltd, have been working smart to support Riversides School in Worcester. Riversides, is a small school specifically for children with special educational needs and recently they have experienced some technology shortfalls.
“When we heard that Riversides children only had one laptop between 60 of them I felt sure something could be done to help by recycling some of hardware we were no longer using” said Matt Nicol, Nicol & Co.
“After placing a cry for help on social media I was delighted to get a response from Matthew Parsons at Surf Tech IT in Stourport.”
Matthew and his team at Surf Tech IT normally work providing a range of IT support to their customers around the region. Once Matthew responded to Matt’s request for support the team at Surf Tech got to work clearing back and preparing the hardware for new users.
The updated equipment has now been presented to Riverside School for pupils to use. Mr Paul Yeomans, Head Teacher at Riversides says “It has made a huge difference to our ability to teach the children and we are extremely grateful for the support from Matt and Matthew”
It’s an initiative Surf Tech hope to continue, having found support and interest from other clients keen to see their old IT go to worthwhile second homes.
Matthew says that they hope to help other schools through 2019 and urges any businesses old equipment that may be gathering dust to get in touch by email: mparsons@surftechit.co.uk
